Activated Carbon Block

Our primary filtration layer uses compressed activated carbon derived from coconut shells. This medium absorbs organic compounds, chlorine, and volatile organic compounds (VOCs) through a process where contaminant molecules bind to the vast internal surface area of the carbon — up to 1,000 m² per gram.

Ion Exchange Resin

A secondary ion-exchange layer targets heavy metals like lead and mercury. Resin beads swap harmless ions (e.g., sodium or potassium) for harmful dissolved metals, reducing lead concentrations from as high as 150 ppb down to non-detectable levels — well below the EPA action level of 15 ppb.

Hollow Fiber Membrane

At the core of Nano-Carbon is a hollow fiber ultrafiltration membrane with a 0.1-micron pore size. This physically blocks bacteria (≥ 0.2 µm) and parasitic cysts like Giardia and Cryptosporidium while allowing dissolved minerals such as calcium and magnesium to pass through.

PFAS Reduction

Per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) — often called "forever chemicals" — are found in water supplies all over the world. Our multi-stage process achieves up to 99% PFAS reduction, addressing both long-chain (PFOA, PFOS) and emerging short-chain compounds.
